After 5 rounds, Topalov is leading the rest of the field by 1.5 points. This is Fischer-like performance.

The key question is: “Since no man can stop Topalov so far, can a woman do it this round?”

J. Polgar – Topalov

This is the match up between two of the most aggressive players on the planet. Don’t be surprised if pieces are flying off the board. These two are not afraid to sacrifice a piece or two for an attack. This would be a big win for Judit if she can succeed.

This game is a toss up.

Anand – Svidler

This is the battle for second place. They are both +1 and tied for second. Unless Anand can start making his moves, Topalov will be too far out of reach.

A small edge for Anand.

Adams – Morozevich

Both are having a horrendous tournament. Both are tying for last place with a score of -2. Neither could have won a single game after 10 games between them. Do they still have any motivation left to fight or will it be an early dinner?

Peaceful dinner.

Kasimdzhanov – Leko

The surprise thing here is Kasimdzhanov has 1/2 point more than Leko and Leko is 1/2 point away from the basement. Leko was once again fortunate to escape with a draw against Anand yesterday.

A fighting game from Leko but still a draw.
