…Wait a sec. Is that… a fool’s mate? Oh my god. That’s gotta hurt!
Oh gosh! I know someone’s taking the picture of me now and it will be posted on the internet by some
mean GM one day, so that the whole world can make fun of me! Ah, how can I “know” what other people are up to ALL THE TIME!
(and absolutely no offense Susan. Just wanted to be clever!:) )
Don’t worry 🙂 Ponomariov knows that it is good clean fun 🙂
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar

blatantly i have been prepared out… fortune favors fools!
Hey buddy, you have to take that Greatful Dead t-shirt off. It’s destroying my concentration and hurting my eyes.
Rats!!! If it wasn’t for the Queen on h5….I would have mate on g2 in 30.
F*kn hell, the crazy bastards photoshopped the position and now Susan tells the world it is good clean fun.
What a woman, she manages to turn evil into good.
Did anyone see The picture of Svider giving jakovenko the bird. I have it set as my desktop. Its a great shot.
Hey, blindfold’s pretty fun when you have to physically move the pieces, too. My pawns are on e6 and f5 now, right?
Checkmate in one ! Only world champ can’t see that…
I don’t want to see his next move.
Dear Lord…forgive all of my sins and please don’t let the other guy see my blunder.
Polin
Marco!……
eeny, meeny, miney, mo
98,99,100…ready or not, here’s my move.
The final, decisive game of the Deep Fritz- Ponomariov match left many spectators diappointed…

The final, decisive game of the Deep Fritz- Ponomariov match left many spectators disappointed…
(Correction again!)
omg maybe someone could make a caption about this?!
Why are two Queens standing behind the watch? What are they doiing there :))
“Why did I hire Kramnik as a second ?”
I forgot the Queen can move diagonally, too!!
“OH NO! I never thought Kramnik as White would have found Qh5# to beat me!”
Get that camera man out’ta here!!
Kram didn’t show me this during prep’s.
huh…Kramnik did not see a mate in one with eyes open….watch me now..
I’m still as good as any stinkin’ World Champion.
I shouldn’t have trusted Miss Polgars
opening DVDs!
Oh no! My favorite defense busted!
Pono excites!
In the past getting chess to the media was a hard job for every world champoin. Ruslan Ponomariov was the first to develop a successfull strategy which is totally independent of the personality of the champion. It is simple and has 100% success rate. Pono’s strategy was copied successfully in 2006 by Vladimir Kramnik during his match with Deep Fritz.
Ponomariov developed this strategy after having played 20 great games full of deep strategic ideas. All the games were drawn, both players being up to the tasks. He felt he and his antagonists had created something of very high quality. Only after these games he read the comments in the Internet and other media: “boring” “dead drawn at move 1” “antimorphy” “chess is dead” “Pono’s lullabies”. First he was shoked. But even in this situation he was up to his duty. He started thinking: “OK. I’m the champion. I’m responsible for the well-being of chess. I have to do something. I have to attract people to chess. People want to see something spectacular. In my games all these great spectular ideas are hidden, not visible for most spectators. I have to create something more obvious. But how? All my opponents are clever and see the obvious as I do. – OK, I have to be the one who stumbles. I have to do it in the most obvious way. I have to get mated. That will excite people.”
The photograph was taken from the stem game of this strategy which since then has been called “Pono excites”.
seven… eight… nine… ten… Ready or not, here comes Queeny!
Who said I couldn’t best Susan blindfolded?zkyijnv
Geez, wheez. It’s all the human cognitive psycology, man. This mating pattern with Queen h5 while my pawns f6 and g5 are solidly defending the key flank squares is extremly rare in chess!
I knew I should have taken the draw offer!
NOT AGAIN MATE IN TWO!!!
Ponomarinov: (covering his eyes with his hand and talking in a jolly voice)
Yep, f’course I’m not seein’ anything n I said u can make ANY first three moves for yr pieces and two for mine!
A promise is a promise, buddy. Like I said, I m a Graaaand Master in chess and supposed to handle any known trap n surprise in the opening, remember? When I see it, I know what to do. Just like that. Already, ready or not, here it comes. Now can I remove my hand n play my own first move?
“Hey, put some clothes on, please. This isn’t clothing optional chess!”
Sam in Lubbock
OK, so its settled! I’ll throw the game and make it look authentic, and then we will share the first prize!
“NOT AGAIN MATE IN TWO!!!”
Three moves, really.
Damn I forgot the pizza in the Oven! I better throw the game!
I thought Black won in Fool’s Mate.
“This Tournament is so cheap they cant even afford blindfolds”!
Why dont women need watches?
Theres a clock on the stove.
“Sorry, bud, your cell phone went off before I played 2… g5.”
Caption:
“And now finally the whole world will know just how poorly I play without the assistance of my pocket set.”
Oh no.
– But at least it’s much better than the
1. f4 e5
2. g4 Qh4#
game from yesterday.

Hej Anders,
do’nt you know that he uses his psykokenetic powers in paranormal games like this?
Theoretically speaking, of course, Black is busted…
“Peekaboo! Peekaboo! Who’s the cutest little chess board in the world? You are! You are! Aboo boo boo! Aboo boo boo!”
“I knew there was a reason why 2…g6! is better than 2…g5”
he he he….I got all the variations in the palm of my hand…he he he.
OK Nakamura – you promised me that you would only play Qh5 on the 2nd move *NOT* the 3rd move! 🙂
Immediately after, a spokesman for FIDE announced that the long awaited unification of the titles Fool and Scholar will be decided in a 3 move tie-break match between Ponomariov and Kramnik.
Ponomariov in the press conference: “It was actually not only about the last move. I was calculating this line very long in advance, and then recalculating…I was feeling well, I was playing well, I think I was pretty much better. I calculated the line many, many times, rechecking myself. I was not feeling tired, I think I was calculating well during the whole game…”
Following the success of their recent article about Kramnik, Chessbase is preparing a new elaborate study (with 3d Fritz images and GM commentaries) about pattern recognition, the psychology of human perception, GM’s eyes and optical nerves and the “rare mating paterns,” which may have caused Ponomariov to suffer this tragic loss.
Had he checked with Wikipedia, Ponomariov would have known that. While any victim of Fool’s Mate can be rightly so designated, accomplishment of a Scholar’s Mate does not make one a scholar…
Therefore, FIDE officials announced that Kramnik’s title remains undisputed.
“Ahhh… too much bughouse
last night! I was preparing
to play Q@f7… but why do
they mislead me by putting
the queens by the board?”
hiydsI think that You have to know the original of this FOTO E-NOTA
http://rsport.netorn.ru/enot/potemkin/enot/foto097.htm
He is thinking :”I don’t like blindfold tournaments”)
Bad. I think Kramnik is a far better selmate composer.
This is the source of that photo:
http://rsport.netorn.ru/enot/potemkin/enot/foto097.htm
Its author is Evgeniy Potemkin who is widely known in Russian chess community for his hilarious photos and drawings. Dear Susan, why there is no reference to the source and accordingly no credits to its author?

rHi Susan!
there is one another pictures for your discussion 🙂

Eugene Potemkin (E-not)
“I hope no-one’s photographing this.”
DOH!
I wanna go real bad! With the new no-bathroom rule, I am in pure agony. Lemme finish this game real quick so that I can go….!
Oh no…I could have bought Geico !!
Where’s a cop when you really need one?
“Susan when are you ever going to let me win one?”
I forced him to make the queen pawn unnecessarily. That means I’m ahead a tem… oh fuck.
Maybe if I close my eyes, Kasparov will go into politcs!!!!
That is hilarious. It’s always nice to see when a person doesn’t take themself too seriously.
Now for my proposed caption:
“As much as I love chess, maybe it’s time I took up poker instead.”
