Ahem- Kramnik is the one challenging Anand this time in a major match- where is he? Where is Kamsky and Topalov?
If it is rating related, where is Ivanchuk and Morozevich, Kramnik too (or even Topalov in the distance?)
I think that we are not in this ‘Carlsen alone versus Anand’ position just yet.
Kramnik is yesterday’s news, let the orange juice flow!
OH DEAR, Anon 2:44PM
We are prickly, aren’t we?
Magnus Conansen 🙂
If chess were a sport where merit was taken into account Anand, Ivanchuk and Carlsen would be negotiating a match where the winner of Ivanchuk/Carlsen would play Anand for the World Championship. Instead we have, well, never mind that was relevant perhaps a year ago, or was it two?
Magnus couldn’t lift a knife, let alone an axe.
As Kasparov once said, don’t bring a knife to a gunfight.
Carlsen will lose with an axe too- Anand can just aim his rifle at Carlsen from his castle. Easy win for Anand.
Even if Carlsen had a gun, he is much more vulnerable to Anand being outside the castle- Anand has a strategically won game even then.
“He’s still a long way from crossing the moat of qualifying for a sanctioned match, and will meet me at home if only the likes of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, or Bangalore can sponsor it.”
Ilyumzhinov will save me!…He owes me a favour, after all I shouldn’t be having to play the Kramnik match. (And should Kramnik beat me, he will undoubtedly do it for him…)
