hahaha….q#e4 At first I kept saying..what?????shto??? WTH???? then I remembered its a blind game….things like that happen I guess…haha…poor kid….
Quite a high quality game up to the blunder. Congratulations due to Grischuk for winning the blindfold section.
It is about as bad as Kramnik overlooking a Mate in One against Fritz 🙂
Wow, Ivanchuk and Carlsen are tied after the last round with a win each.
The fact of hanging a queen in a blind game is not that interesting alone. One should add that Carlsen was up much time and was probably playing a bit on his opponents time as his position seemed to be slightly worse and that gave him chances that _Grischuk_ would blunder.
(Playing on time does not pay off usually. Didn’t Topalov miss a win in Linares playing too fast while he had enough time? Didn’t MC once missed a simple figure win while playing on time? When will they finally learn… :))
I am happy about this blunder so that Ivanchuk could win the whole tournament (only on tie breaks!).
What an exciting finish.
With a Grischuk’s win in the rapid game he would have even been second winner overall after Kramnik lost to Karjakin.
Very, very exciting and nice to follow tournament! Thanks for the organisers and big gratulations to you, Mr Ivanchuk for winning this one without one loss (+7!).
Greetings from Germany
Jochen
I’d bet a year’s salary Carlsen had Grischuk’s queen on d2.
carlsen in an interview said he thought the queen was on d2
What would you have expected? That he thought the queen was where it was?
