Kf7 e1 (Q)
Nf6
Draws.
1.Kf7! the threat is Nf6.
1…e1=Q 2.Nf6 and black must play Qf1 and after 3.Rxh7+ is draw
1…Be5!? 2.Nxe5 e1=Q 3.Kf8! (threat Nf7) Qxe5 4.Rg8+! =
After I posted my solution, I saw one more very nice variation :
1.Kf7 Be5! 2.Nxe5 e1=Q 3.Kf8! Qb4+ 5.Re7 Be4 6.Ng6+! Bxg6 – draw !
Are you sure that this is not a study? This MUST be one regarding the too stalemate lines!
I see a draw starting with 1. Kf7! with the threat of 2. Nf6 winning for white.
If 1. -, e1Q 2. Nf6! with the threat 3. Rxh7#
Qh~ 3. Rxh7+ = or Qe6/7+ 3. KxQ, Kxg7 4. Nxh7! = (black almost gets a won KBB vs KN end game).
Another harder to find variation is
1. -, Be5! 2. Nxe5, e1Q 3. Kf8!! [4. Nf7#] with two nice stalemates.
3. -, Qxe5 4. Rg8+!, Bxg8 =
3. -, Qb4+ 4. Re7! 4. -, Bf5 (or a simlar move along the long diagonal; if 4. -, Qb8+ 5. Re8! draws easily with the multithreat RxQ, Nf7+ and Kf7+) 5. Ng6+, Bxg6 =
Wow. If this is right and if this is a real game…. WOW, that’s unbelievable!
Thanks for posting this one!
Nf6 leads to mate.
please ignore my first post. the pieces are not where I thought they were.
What about first Kf7 and after e1Q Nf6… seems to force the draw.
Greetings from Finland
1. Kf7 e1=Q
2. Nf6 any
3. RxH7++
Kf7 draws as after black queens, Nf6 and a series of forced exchanges take place on h7
Its a DRAW….
Kf7 e1-Q
Nf6 Qh1
RxBh7 QxR
NxQ leads to a draw…
White (King) versus Black (King & Bishop)
1. Nf6 e1(Q)+
2. Kf7 Bg6+
3. Rxg6
1-0
1 kf7 e1=q
2 nf6
To avoid mate black must play qe7
draw.
1… Kf7! followed by 2…Nf6 should fetch white a draw.
Ay, my mind has been playing chess for 6 months and how weak it is at chess! I of course could only see Rxa7 as the beginning and only gave the puzzle about two or three minutes thought before giving up. I’m working hard on my end game Susan, I’m improving, I’m still going to need a-lot of study time ….
aam,
Nf6 loses to the immediate Kg7.
1. Kf7 e1(Q)?
2. Nf6 Qe7
3. Ke7 Kg7 draws
Or, better for black, I think, is
1. Kf7 Be5 and now Nf6 is no threat.
If there is a win or forced draw, I think it starts with a move other than Kf7.
1.Nf6?? apodictically loses after 1. …Kxg7.
1.Kf7 seemingly draws.
1.Kf7 e1=Q
2.Nf6 Draw

I don’t see anything better than 1. Kf7 e1=Q 2. Nf6 Qb1 or h1 3. Rxh7+ Qxh7 4. Nxh7 Kxh7 with a practical draw.
1…Kf7 2.e1Q Nf6=
1…Kf7 2.e1D Sf6=
1 Kf7! Be5! (1…e1=Q 2 Nf6 is too easy for white to find; 2…Qe7 3 Ke7 Kg7 =) 2 Ne5 e1=Q 3 Kf8! Qe5 4 Rg8 Bg8 = white is Stalemated.
