Susan I just played through Polgar v Azmaiparashvili 1990. What a masterpiece! Very exciting. You must have been a wreck at the board calculating those variations with time trouble. I loved your annotations too – I learned from your comments. Thanks so much.
I admired your bravery with 19 b4 and 20 a4! Your King has lots of “air” with so many pieces on the board still.
After ..29 Kc7 I was thinking you didn’t have enough for the sacrificed knight. Then before too long you were down a whole piece and you still patiently pressed your positional advantage. Unbelievably cool. Then the rook sacrifice to finish! Too much.
I’ve heard you describe yourself as a positional player, but with tactical vision like that I’m sure you could win any way you wanted to.

What’s the officer’s name? You got the horse’s name but not the officer’s? How he must feel…
