Christian County Hosts First Chess Tournament

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (1/2/13) – Christian County will host the first open chess amateur unrated tournament on Saturday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m. The tournament will be held at North Drive Middle School.
The tournament will be a four-round Swiss-style competition, with trophies awarded for first-, second- and third-place winners. Chess boards, pieces and clocks will be provided.
Students that wish to participate must register by contacting Ruth Lynch at 270-887-7020 or Laura Faulkner at 270-887-4285.The cost is free for middle school chess club members, admission is $5.00 for the public.
