Chess Wiz Tanraj Sohal Wins BC Chess Championship Again

SURREY – Indo-Canadian chess wiz Tanraj Sohal won another BC Provincial Chess Championship in his grade level at the annual BC Chess Challenge held on April 6 in Victoria, BC.
Tanraj is a Grade 10 student from Surrey. He earlier won the Fraser Valley Regional Chess Championship held in Surrey on March 4. Recently, Tanraj also won the 2012 1st Simon Fraser University Open Chess Championship held in Burnaby, BC on March 23-25.
Tanraj along with other provincial winners will be representing BC Chess Team at the Canadian Chess Challenge to be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia in May, 2012.

What’s his rating?
I saw him play in two tournaments here in Vegas. Most impressive was his clear win on the U2300 at the North American Open. I say he is a clear favorite if he goes to Slovenia this year.
