The late Rosendo Balinas – a handsome young man in his prime:-) I like his ideas – very original.
The late Philippine GM Rosendo Balinas. I remember Balinas playing 6. b3 in a Najorf Sicilian but followed it up with Be3. The game was drawn.

Happy Birthday to the late Grandmaster Rosendo “Junior or Bali” Balinas, Jr. Born 10 Sept. 1941.
Atty. Balinas was a true lawyer, went toe to toe as well all his life, against the corrupt power of Campomanes, who ruthlessly hated his guts.
An astute chess journalist, as well as a generous man who molded and influenced the great Eugene Torre and other Filipino players.
NM Rosendo Balinas vs GM Robert Fischer.
As the 1967 Philippine Open Champion Bali defended his, as well as the Filipino pride by attacking Fischer’s position from the start.
Bali used his Anti-Sicilian:
1. e4
2. Nge2
3.g3
4. Bg2
set up against Fischer which gave him a comfortable attacking options against Bobby.
Although the game was drawn at the end, Bali had the upperhand throughout the game.
A remarkable feat for the greatness of Bali’s Filipino talent against the genius of Bobby.
That game, albeit a single game, gave credence to Balinas, having won the Singapore Open, Hongkong Open, and the Philippine Open with GM Svetozar Gligoric, as well as a Silver Medalist in the World Chess Olympiad, as the top Asian player during the ’60’s period, prior to Torre and Anand’s appearance.
Well done, our great maestro Grandmaster Balinas. We know you and Bobby Fischer are sitting pretty doing what you all do best-play chess.
