This is a Swedish Chess TV Show. I believe it is a 30 minute weekly TV show. Perhaps our Swedish bloggers can confirm this. In any case, they do talk about recent major chess events. There is decent English caption in the bottom. Even though I do not understand Swedish, I actually watch the entire 28 minute clip 🙂 Click here to watch the TV Show.
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
She’s very good!
Super
I do not understand a word of Swedish but I bookmarked that so I can watch it every week. Excellent show. Amazing.
The show does not look like it is expensive to film. Perfect start to getting more action on chess in USA. They have a little bit of everything.
She’s adorable. I don’t understand Swedish but I would watch her daily.
“Mitt i schack” (In the middle of chess) – with Chess family Krzymowski running the show. It has run on local TV in Sweden for a couple of years now. It is made by amateurs on a low budget, but it is still fun to watch (if you don’t find the lack of professionalism too disturbing). I guess they are making progress, learning by doing; this is their 129:th show, and it’s much better than in the beginning.
A chess filmer myself, I wish them luck. There are problems to solve making chess interesting on TV, and they have solved some of them. The solution doesn’t lie only in more money – rather know-how about filming and fitting material, that is not better viewed on the internet. I’m thinking of the slow tempo and graphical problems. TV is a medium for moving images, and timing is a crucial factor. Why not use a standard 2-camera or 3-camera technique, to make it more dynamical?
I have filmed interactive analyses and interviews at the Swedish Chess Championship:

(sorry, only in swedish!)
the newscaster looks & sounds really young..
but cute 😉
I watch that show every week, there are a lot more episodes on their website (http://www.mittischack.se/mis_eng.htm), but unfortunatly only a couple of the latest have subtitles.
Pippi Longstocking does chess.
Yes the young woman is very good. She has the ability to have a wonderful smile while she is talking with an obvious need to concentrate on the material she is speaking. To me the material she is speaking looks difficult. She smiles so nicely through it all. She also seems very young.
I really like the show. I hope to catch it more often. However, I need the english subtitles. They really covered a lot of material in the show at a fast pace. No slow points in the show. It seemed like lots of action. Even the story at the end was very interesting. I want to catch the 2nd part of that story.
