World Chess Olympiad Presentation Opens in Russia

The 7th specialized travel market exhibition has recently opened in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. The exhibition displays the tourist projects and travel potential of the Russian city of Ugra and other regions of Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, etc.

For the first time ever in the history of the exhibition, the regional Chess Federation organizes “Chess Club” salon – presentation of the 39th World Chess Olympiad that will take place in Ugra in 2010.

Preparation for the Olympiad includes construction of a modern Chess Centre, hotels, roads as well as reconstruction of the old ones.

The Russian city of Ugra won a right to host the World Chess Olympiad at the 77th FIDE Congress that took place in Turin (Italy) in 2006.
