Magnus Carlsen wins the first seat of the 4th edition of the Bilbao’s Grand Slam Chess Masters Final
The Norwegian Great Master Magnus Carlsen became the first player in wining a ticket to the 4th edition of the Bilbao’s Grand Slam Chess Masters Final. After his triumph in the Nanking (China) tournament, the player has received the invitation to the event from the organization of Bilbao´s final. Nanking has been the first of the Grand Slam’s tournaments that has taken place.
The winners of the tournaments members of the Grand Slam have the right to dispute the Bilbao´s tournament.
Bilbao, venue and organizer of the previous three editions of this final, is working with cities from all over the world that are interested in joining the project as first stage venue in 2011. The success of the formula developed in 2010, when Shanghai held the tournament’s first stage coinciding with the Universal Exhibition has aroused the interest of these cities.
According with the preliminary dates forecast, the final will be held from September 20th to October 12th, 2011.
