I would like to thank you for the letter regarding including chess to the Winter Olympic Games programme. FIDE’s proposal will be considered at the next meeting of the Kyrgyzstan NOC Executive Board and will be submitted to the International Olympic Committee.
On this occasion I’d like to express my gratitude to Mr Ilyumzhinov for his honour and visit to the office of the National Olympic Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Hoping for further cooperation.
Best regards,
Kanat Amankulov
General Secretary
National Olympic Committee of Kyrgyz Republic
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
SO are we going with the ice-in-the-chess pieces approach, or with the make-the-board-out-of-ice approach? I want to invest in the right company now. Get in at the early stage.
Ice Pieces or Ice Board, what’ll it be?
This is all a FIDE joke. Read Chessbase.COM where the FIDE Vice-President confidently says chess will never be in the Winter Games.
