Fischer in NYC after winning the WC.
“photograph’s” cannot press buttons, meathead.
Bad try at humor.
That was shortly after Fischer won the World Championship when Mayor Lindsay held a tribute for him in which he gave him the key to New York City. Fischer famously declared that he never thought he would see a day when Chess was all over the front pages here but not in Russia, then said ‘I guess im to blame for that.’
Nice picture. A short veideo of that same moment is also included at the beginning of the movie: Searching for Bobby Fischer.
Fischer returning back from Iceland after winninh the 1972 Worldchampionship against Spassky.
September 22 1972
After Fischer was indicted by a federal grand jury and returned to the US for trial.

Fischer at the victory rally for the New York Mets after they won the World Series in ’69.
