National Chess Federation of the Philippines Chairman and President Prospero Pichay, Jr. and Secretary General Mayor Abraham Tolentino were reelected to the leadership of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).

A Court Order against individual persons did not prevent the NCFP General Assembly from holding elections last week in Tagaytay City with the approval of the Philippine Olympic Committee which sent POC Deputy Secretary General Mark Joseph as Observer.

A total of 175 votes were cast and Pichay received a fresh mandate with a perfect 100% vote followed by Mayor Tolentino in second. Under their leadership, the Philippines has hosted five big international opens in one a half years and produced three new Grandmasters.
