CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) — A chess champion shared his wisdom for the game with some Cedar Rapids Club members today.

Grand Master Josh Friedel, 2013’s US Open chess champion, visited with the Cedar Rapids Chess Club today. He gave a lecture about the game and what it is like to play with chess players from around the world.

He wanted to let younger players know while competition can be stressful, they should just have fun. If you’d like to get to get involved in the Cedar Rapids Chess Club, they have a meeting every Wednesday night at the Cedar Rapids Public Library.
