What does it mean to be the chess capital of the world? If they want a slogan, they can adopt one now, they don’t have to wait 3 years.
Do they really want much attention now with Fischer there?
With global warming and the resulting rise in water levels, it could lend new meaning to the “mud slinging” going on these days. 🙂
does Danilov know about this? This is a very important development so they probaly need his approval before they continue with their plans?
They already are the chess capital of the world because Bobby Fischer is there.
I won’t have anything to do with ‘Chess Capital’ Iceland until it discontinues their killing of Minke and Fin whales. In addition to Chess Capital, they can become the Whale Sight-seeing Capital of the Atlantic…. so many potential sources of tourism for this country! I have fond memories of the giant chess board in downtown Reykavik, watching games from the little sloping hill.
HHHMMMMM, so how did that turn out? It’s been 7 years since the claim. Fischer, sadly, is dead, so they lost a bit there.
