Carlsen back on top with one round to go
In Round 10 of the Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament, Magnus Carlsen reclaimed first place in the overall standings with a 2-0 win over Ruslan Ponomariov. With one round and two games to go, the Norwegian grandmaster is half a point ahead of Vasily Ivanchuk and one and a half points ahead of Vladimir Kramnik. Ivanchuk and Kramnik drew their mini-match today after two hard-fought games. Tomorrow in the last round Carlsen (13½) plays Grischuk (11½). Ivanchuk (13) is paired against Gelfand (11), while Kramnik (12) faces Karjakin (11). Round 11 starts two hours earlier than normal at 12.30 hrs.

Carlsen is obviously the best.
Carlsen is impressive, despite looking twice in the opening round he has managed to get back in the lead.
Also impressive is that we expect him to win – look at other great players like Kramnik and last years winner Aronian they don’t on average do as well in every single tournament they are in – everyone is aiming for Carlsen and he still (looks to) deliver 🙂
I was wondering was, why do the players use laptops and what do they see on the screen when playing blindfold?
On the photo it looks like they just see an empty chess board and the last move of their oppent, is that right?
