Even though the dynamic duo tied for 1st, Carlsen finished better on tiebreaks due to the subpar performance by Ivanchuk. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic performance by these two. Perhaps their rivalry will be like Borg / McEnroe or Federer / Nadal for the next decade. This would be great for chess.

Well done by these two lads.
nice job! Great Tourney! I’m sorry about only two things…That Radjabov didn’t do better and Ivanchuk was in lousy form….other than that..WOW!!! What a great Tournament! These should have been the candidates. Fide has lost touch with reality.
Magnus is a modern day Capablanca. It’s pretty obvious. But I don’t think he’ll cope with the crush of a determined person. In those I see..are karjakin and Radjabov. Kramnik and whats his name..um..Arorian…are simply not up to the task. It;ll be interesting to see if Magnus actually TRIES to get better…that would be scary voodoo chess.
