Alas, no human can remain Champion forever, but even after this match defeat Anand’s record stands second only to Kasparov’s. He’s performed brilliantly at the world title level.
Finally the King and Numero Uno (ELO Ratingwise) Norwegian chess prodigy Magnus Carlsen becomes the new World Chess Champion. Congratulations Carlsen. While the chess fraternity will celebrate a new World Chess Champion forwarding the legacy of chess greats like Garry Kasparov who is the youngest World Chess Champion till date and though Magnus missed the age bar by a whisker it he remains the most complete chess champion of the new generation esp. now that he is World Chess Champion adds to his resume the finest touches of greatness. However, Anand fans too should not be too much disappointed as every great champion has to pass on his or her legacy and Anand has lost his crown to a true champion. Not only Magnus is Numero Uno rating wise but with his unpredictable type of Opening Repertoire and rock solid endgame skills he truely deserves to be the new World Chess Champion. It will be interesting to see his Challenger in the next World Chess Championship Cycle, will it be Levon of Caruna or Karajkin or somebody as old and experienced like Vishy or Kramnik will certainly make the coming chess World Chess Championship battles a must watch. Till then Magnus has got all to say in a tennis like style GAME, SET & MATCH. CONGRATULATIONS ONCE AGAIN.
Other than the eastern bloc countries (Soviet), no country has produced a man and woman world chess champion. China and India is a good possibility in the future.
Big victory of the Norwegian. However his “exact chess” is not by any means spectacular. Maybe I am a old chess players admirer, but I think super brilliant players like Capablanca or Alekhine at their best could defeat Magnus in no hurry.
Anyway congratulations to Carlsen.
