On 5.Ne4+ Black can take with the queen, and it’s not quite clear who has the edge, even if I would prefer to be white in that case.

g3+ leads to at least a draw for white, and a win if black is careless.
In blitz Nf3+ is devastating…
While g3+ Kh3, Nf2+ have to be the first moves, freeing the diagonal for the white queen, it’s difficult to see how to get more than a perpetual. The trick is to force the black king to f4, so that the knight can move to d3, forking the queen and king.

I agree. This looks like the strongest line to me. Other lines lead to the knight fork more easily. To continue, 7…Rg8 (to prevent mate and threaten to win the queen as well as future nasty back-rank checks like R-g1-a1+; Kxa1 d3+; Ka2 Qb2++) 8. Qh1+ Kg3 9. Qg2+ Kh4 10. Qh3+ Kg5 11 Qxh5 Kf4 12 Nd3+ finally forces the “Royal Fork” and a material advantage after white exchanges knight for queen.
