According to Nikolay Velchev, head of the Bulgarian Chess Federation, Radeva had advantage over Borisov at the beginning.

“After that, with inventive moves Borisov managed to keep up the balance, creating a “fortress” at one point. Later, mistakes led to the draw,” Velchev said, as cited by Dnevnik.

The 10-year-old girl explained that she played to the best of her abilities. “I didn’t yield to the Prime Minister because he is very good,” Radeva told reporters after the match stressing that Borisov put up a tough fight.
