1. Invitation

The Brunei Chess Federation (BCF) is pleased to invite chess players from all federation to participate in the Brunei Campomanes Memorial Grandmaster Open 2012 from the 7th April 2012 (Arrival) to the 12th April 2012 (Departure).

2. Organising Committee

The organising committee for this tournament is the Brunei Chess Federation in collaboration with FIDE (World Chess Federation) and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Brunei Darussalam.

3. Playing Venue

The playing venue for the Brunei Campomanes Memorial Grandmaster Open 2012 shall be at the Orchid Garden Hotel, Jalan Berakas, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

4. Participation and Conditions

4.1) The entry fees of the event shall be as follows:

a) No registration fee for chess players with international titles GM, IM, WGM and WIM
b) For chess players with ELO rating 2400-2499 — 50 US dollars,
c) For chess players with ELO rating 2300-2399 — 75 US dollars,
d) For chess players with ELO rating 2200-2299 — 100 US dollars,
e) For chess players with a rating below 2200 and unrated players — 125 US dollars,
f) 50% discount are provided for veterans above 50 and students U16.
g) Entry fee for BCF members are 50 US dollars.

4.2) The deadline for registration is 24th March 2012. After this, a late registration penalty of 50% will be added. However, organizers reserve the right to refuse or decline late registrations.

4.3) Only upon preliminary agreement and an official invitation will the BCF accept the first 10 registered participants (5 GMs and 5 IMs) following the special conditions below:
– First 5 GM titled players (maximum 2 from each country) are provided with a full-board double room in hotel and appearance fee USD300
– First 5 IM titled players (maximum 1 from each country) are provided with a full-board double room in hotel and appearance fee USD150
– Non invited IMs and WGMs, WIMs ,FMs are offered free accommodation double/triple room in Pusat Belia Youth hostel on a first come first serve basis. In addition, the BCF, on special cases would offer similar conditions to chess players with outstanding achievements and exceptional merits.
