Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Obviously it is the Serbians who will triumph. They have arguably the best and most experienced captain of all plus are motivated with significant amounts of cash. It is sad that the talented Chinese Chinese had to suffer the Serbian onslaught. Hopingly they will recover and emerge among top ten anyway.
The strategy went well. Maric purposly got a worse position against Yifan, so that her other team members would be led to believe it will be another easy win. They dosed off, and when awaken faced horrors on boards 2-4, where they narrowly escaped a 3-0 whitewash. The same fate awaits next Serbia’s opponent. One board will sacrifice itself for the good of all rest.
Hail Ceaser!
