29th Balaton Nemzetközi Chess Festival

The 29th Balaton Nemzetközi Chess Festival took place from 18th to 26th October at the Assembly Hall of Major’s Office, 8380 Hévíz, Hungary.

GM Tamas Banusz won the main A Open by collecting 7.5 points from nine games. 48 players participated.

Hévíz is one of the most important resorts of health tourism in Hungary. The focal point of the spa is the unique thermal lake with its peat bottom and 4,4 hectares of surface area, the largest such lake in the world.
