Mongolian Woman Leads in International Chess Competition

Mongolian chess player B. Mongontuul has sole possession of the lead in the woman’s tournament at the Moscow Open, 2010 International Chess Festival, which is taking place in Moscow, Russia on January 30-February 7, 2010.

The fourth round of the Moscow Open 2010 festival in RSSU classrooms finished on Tuesday, late in the evening. After four rounds, Mongontuul has a one-hundred-per-cent result, always playing black. She beat international master Ghader Pour Shayesteh (Iran).

A total of 185 chess players are competing in the men’s tournament, and Moldavian Bologan leads the event, beating the vice-world champion among women Hou Yifan (China) in this round. Eleven players scored 3.5 points and head the list of participants in the competition.
