Aronian and Carlsen to face each other in Norway
YEREVAN. – Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian will compete in a super tournament, to be held from July 2 to 13, in several cities of Norway.
The opponents of Aronian—who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the previous World Team Chess champions, Armenia, and who is ranked second in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) ratings—will be World Champion GM Magnus Carlsen, GM Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria), GM Sergey Karjakin (Russia), GM Peter Svidler (Russia), and GM Fabiano Caruana (Italy).
Four more tournament participants will be announced at a later date, Armchess reports.
Good thing they didn’t invite nakamura. He would have been at last place for sure. He can’t handle this level of competition.
