Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Aronian proves that he’s the best player in the world today.
Aronian needs to shave off that peach fuzz.
By the way, Susan, the remarks above (in probably not very adept grammatically Hungarian) are a rather angry attempt at being slightly cynical. My Hungarian is not that good, since I am not a Hungarian at all and have nothing to do with Hungary or Hungarians. I simply liked the language and learned most of it on my own some years ago. People from your home country have been amazed at the fact anyway, as they are not accustomed to random foreigners talking in their language, especially, as I said, in the case of someone who has no ties to Hungary by birth whatsoever. Anyway, the point I wanted to make is: I have been an eager reader of your blog for the past year but I’ve noticed lots of bias in prioritizing certain GMs over others, and, in general, in favoring certain well-known “cliques” within the chess community, over others. You have done a very decent job promoting young GMs like Fab Fab or Wes So, but you have also done a fair job of slighting others, who need no slighting since they are, in fact, leading GMs, people such as Topalov or Karjakin, and, to a certain extent, even Anand. I still remember, for example, how Topalov won a big commemorative event some year(s) ago (The “Champions” tournament in Spain alongside Judit, Ponomariov, Karpov, etc.), and how you gave it no mention whatsoever, until one of your bloggers repeatedly brought to your attention that event.
For one thing, perhaps, you should indeed moderate the comments you are receiving, since the things that have been “plastered” on your site are sometimes ridiculous, written by kids, or haters, who say almost nothing thoughtful, but despise others. My point, on the other hand, is, do you feel that you’ve always been objective and fair to those who love to read about chess and current chess events? If so, then please neglect my prior comments; if not, on the other hand, maybe something can be done about that…
Good lord Anony-whiner, people come here to have fun, support chess, and laugh.
You sound like a vapid bag-pipe with all that whining!
Why not accept GM Polgar’s work at face value and try not to over analyse?
Be happy.
Yours in Chess,
Grundy
