YEREVAN. – WGM Lilit Mkrtchian, who plays second board for the Armenian national women’s chess team, married German businessman Johannes Sperr.
“My husband was born in Dillingen city; he now lives in Leipzig. He is a journalist by profession, but now he has set up his own business.
“We started communicating over the Internet, about 2.5 years ago.
“Everything started out between us from chess. Johannes played chess in his teenage years. In 1984, he became the vice-champion of Bavaria’s U16 chess players.
“Our interaction started out when he wrote me a letter saying he liked my chess very much and he wished me success in my tournaments,” Mkrtchian told Chess Armenia.

Congratulations.
I wish them both much happiness together.
So, that’s how it’s done!…You email chess players and say you love their chess. *Sending Irina Krush an email right now* hahaha… Congratulations.
