Once again, Topalov lost. He and Vallejo engaged in one of the sharpest and most complicated lines in chess. He fought very hard but came out at the short end of the stick.

Radjabov played solidly against Bacrot and fully took advantage of his space advantage and comfortable position for a win.

Ivanchuk thoroughly trashed Svidler in a wild game where neither side castled. Svidler only lasted 25 moves.

Leko effortlessly drew against Aronian with the Black pieces to maintain the lead.
