Anna Zatonskih looking forward to her first visit to Greece

The 2008 US Women’s Champion WGM / IM Anna Zatonskih is preparing for her first visit to Greece where she will participate in the European Club Cup in Kallithea, October 16-24. Anna is member of the Belorussian team EPAM, where she will be playing second board. Other EPAM players are GM Hoang Thanh Trang (2487 HUN), IM Atalik Ekaterina (2426 TUR), IM Matveeva Svetlana (2412 RUS) and WGM Sharevich Anna (2318 BLR).
After the Women’s World Chess Championship, Anna and her family were vacationing in the Ukraine. We succeeded in contacting her to ask a couple of quick questions:
Q: Hello Anna, how do you anticipate your first visit to Greece?A: It a great pleasure to participate in European Club Cup in Kallithea. It is going to be my first visit to Greece and I am very exited about it.Q: What are your team’s ambitions?
A: I am playing for a Belorussian club EPAM. We have a very strong team and I think we have good chances to win medal!
The 2008 ECC will probably be the last practical test for Anna before the Dresden Chess Olympiad that starts on 12th November.
