President of the Russian Chess Federation Andrei Filatov, the oldest Grandmaster in the world Yury Averbakh and world vice-champion Grandmaster Sergey Karjakin participated in the TV show “Nablyudatel” (Observer) on the “Culture” channel.
Culturologist Boris Lanin and the host of the program Fyokla Tolstaya were also present in the studio.
The participants discussed the chess boom in Russia, the benefits of the oldest game, the role of chess in history and literature.
