In spite of being the lowest seed, Webster University sophomore GM Georg Meier finished in 3rd place. As a full time student at Webster, Meier has little time to compete in world class level tournaments. He started the 1st half at -2. After shaken off the rust, he went +2 in the second half to finish 3rd and the top German.
