1…Qe2!
double threats Qxe1 and Qxf2+
2.Rf1 Nxf1 3.Qd4 Ne3! ( 3…Rb1 is also good. threat Ne3+ )
4.Qxe3 Rb1+ leads to checkmate.
2.Rf1 Nxf1 3.Bxf1 Qxf2+ 4.Kh1 Qxh2#
2.Rxe2 Rb1+ leads to checkmate.
2.fxe3 Qxg2#
1 … Qe2
if 2. R:e2 Rb1+ and mate follows
if 2. Rf1 N:f1 3. B:f1 Rb1
Qd7
Qe2!
Sorry, I tried, but can’t find. For what level is this puzzle?
1… Qe2 !! (Deflection!)
2. Rf1 (If 2. Rxe2 Rb1+ and mate)
2… Nxf1
3. Qd4 Ne3 (Blockade!)
4. Qxe3 Rb1+ and mate
0-1
Black plays Qe2!
1…Qe2!
1. … Qe2!
White has no defense against dual threats at f2 (and/or g2) and on the back rank. E.g.,
2. Rxe2 Rb1+
3. Qd1 Rxd1
4. Re1 Rxe1+
5. Bf1 Rxf1#
Or…
2. Rf1 Nxf1
3. Bxf1 Qxf1#
And obviously…
2. fxe3 Qxg2#
Qe2!!
After Qe2, White has nothing better than Rf1 (Rxe2?, Rb1+ and mate is imminent).
So…
1- … ; Qe2
2- Rf1; Nxf1
This capture not only makes the rook vanish, it keeps the mate threats alive.
3- Qd4 (to cover f2) ; Ne3
4- Qxe3 ; Rb1+ with mate to be delivered within the next couple of moves.
Nice goin’ Vishy! Finding the mate is not that hard, but setting it up in the first place, that takes talent.
Qe2!!!
1… Qe2
1 … Qe2
1…Qe2! – Ariel G. Tinio
Pretty easy. Hint: notice weak back rank.
…Qe2 and everything falls!
If Re2 then… Rook check
Bf1 then… Rf1
other moves are easy after that.
1. … Qe2!! 2. Rxe2 Rb1+ 3. Qd1 Rxd1+ 4. Re1 Rxe1+ 5. Bf1 Rxf1#
All other moves by white are also losing:
2. Rf1 Nxf1 followed by 3. Qxd2+ and 4. Qxh2#.
2. fxe3 Qxg2#
2. Qc2/d1 is not an option.
2. Rc1/a1 Qxf2+ 3. Kh1 Qxg2#
Quite easy actually.
Qe2 looks promising! Rook can’t take due to backrank problems. Queen can’t defend because it will be taken. So Rf1 is the best try. But then NxR wins.
1. … Qe2 wins out of hand.
1 .. Qe2,
if White goes Rxe2 then Rb1 and mate follows
if White goes h4, then ..Qxe1,Kh2 Qxf2 and black wins in next move
1. … Qe2, threatening
2. … Qxf2+
3. Kh1 Qxg2#, as well as
2. … Qxe1+
3. Bf1 Qxf1#
2. f2xe3 Qxg2#
2 Rxd6 Rb1+
3. Qd1 Rxd1+
4. Re1 Rxe1+
5. Bf1 Rxf1#
2. Rf1 Nxf1
3. Qd4
Black is up one rook.
Qe2!
1. … Qe2 2. Rf1 (2. Rxe2 Rb1+) 2. .. Nxf1 3. Qd4 (3. Bxf1 Qxf2+ 4. Kh1
Qxh2#) 3. .. Ne3 4. Qxe3 Rb1+
