I am happy with my form: Vishwanathan Anand

NAGPUR: World chess champion Vishwanathan Anand has said he is happy with his current form.
Addressing mediapersons on Thursday, Anand said: “I actually thought I am doing quite well this year for instance my rating is in peak. So, I am now at 28-17. I have never been there before and in fact over the last few years I have won three world titles.”
On asked about being compared with cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, Anand said there cannot be any comparison between cricket and chess and their respective popularity.
“It didn’t feel like anything. I mean, I play chess, he (Sachin Tendulkar) plays cricket and he did a brilliant job and I tried to do my best. In fact, I am slightly older than him so he is not someone I am compared to a lot,” added Anand.
In May 2010, Anand won the World Chess Championship against Bulgarian Grand Master and former world chess champion Veselin Topalov.
He emerged as a champion on the global scenario when he won the world junior title in 1989. Earlier, at the age of 16, he became India’s first Grandmaster.
