American Chess Kids Take on the World
Not one or two, but six of NYChessKids students are headed to the World Youth Chess Championship in Brazil November 17-27, 2011. Four of the students will be representing USA, one student will represent Japan, and one student will represent Slovakia.

Six NYChessKids students have been chosen for the prestigious honor of participating in the World Youth Championship in Brazil this year. This event is held for some of the best young players around the world to test their mettle.
Kadhir Pillai, Ethan Joo, Thomas Knoff and Katya Davis were invited to represent USA, while Alisa KIkuchi will be representing Japan, and Gabriella Morvay will represent Slovakia.
Families can not be anymore excited as they will be seeing their child represent their own country. At NYChessKids we are excited also, and desirous to be supportive as best we can, pledging to help prepare each of them with master lessons.
All the younger students should take heart in their achievement for they all started out in Level 1 chess, and they all played in the NO SCORE section for their first tournaments. Now look where they are headed, to the World Championship.
All of us in the NYChessKids community wish them well and we cheer them on. We are very proud of them as they have gone a long way.
