Posted by Danny Gawlowski
Billed as the largest all-girls elementary school aged chess tournament in the country, 132 girls competed in the Queen’s Quest All-Girls Chess Tournament Saturday at Medina Elementary. The tournament encourages girls to play chess at an early age, aiming to bridge the gender gap in the sport. From the five-round tournament, thirty competitors will advance to the state championships in the Tri-Cities in April. View more photos in the gallery.
