Hi Susan,
We want the readers to know – and I’ll reiterate as I’ve published elsewhere – that Susan Polgar had absolute discretion to decide who wins the Goddesschess Fighting Chess Award money because of her great experience and – obviously – her knowledge of the game of chess. The collective knowledge of the Goddesschess people regarding chess can probably fit into an ant’s thimble. All the more reason that we love the game and admire its players of all levels for their knowledge, commitment and dedication to the game, from the beginners to the most accomplished super-GMs. Any decision that Susan made regarding the winner of the Award would be okay with us!
That being said – I am whooping right now for Tatev Abrahamyan, who had a wonderful tournament while staying under the radar! I (and my partners, who have been following along with me) couldn’t be more pleased with Susan’s choice of winner.
Congratulations to Tatev Abrahamyan!
Thank you once again, Susan, for agreeing to pick the winner of the Fighting Chess Award this year! And thanks again to the Susan Polgar Foundation for adding $150 to the prize fund this year. The folks at Goddesschess are already planning how we can do it bigger and better next year.

Great choice Susan! I agree with your choice.
I would’ve prefered Tatev make a draw in last game, get a clear 3rd place and leave this award to somebody else.
Regardless, congrats Tatev!
