Picture of a little league team from 1950

Ryan Carter struck out 11 batters and Cody Walker hit a two-run homer to help Columbus beat the team from Kawaguchi City, Japan, 2-1 on Monday, giving the American team from Columbus, Georgia the Little League World Series title.

These kids from this tournament played their hearts out for personal pride as well as for their hometowns, states and countries. That is what the spirit of sports is all about. Congratulations to both American and Japanese teams!
