The 8th annual Susan Polgar National Girls’ Invitational will conclude today. The closing ceremony will take place at 1:30 pm in the Business School Rotunda. For the last 6 days, 46 of the brightest young ladies in the country were invited to come to Texas Tech to receive training, and to compete for scholarships, netbooks, and other cool prizes.
Each one of the participants has a story. But the video above tells the most powerful story. Without the Susan Polgar Foundation, TTU, FedEx, and so many generous individuals (including Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, and so many others), some of these young girls would never have a chance.
