There were more media and spectators than some of the World Championships, Candidates’ Matches or National Championships. There were literally thousands of people in and out during the event. This is how you put on a chess show. It was a headline news event.
The funniest story was the guide for one of the members of the Polgar Chess and Cultural Tour told him that if he has a chance, go to the Conrinthia Grand Hotel because there will be a major chess event by the Polgar sisters. She did not know that he is a chess player and he will take part in the event.
It was declared as the Polgar Chess Day and the whole city knew about it. After all, it has been more than a decade since the Polgar sisters did an event together in Hungary.
Awesome! Look at what proper marketing can do. But Goichberg and his slate don’t care about marketing and promotion. They only care about his pockets and the CCA.
Celebrate success! Way to go Polgar!
Wow! The Polgar siters together in a simul is only 2nd to a Bobby Fischer simul! You ladies have class, great ability, and charisma!!
It’s great!! Unbelievable!!
As a participant in the match against the Hungarian team and in the simul, all I can say is FANTASTIC! The Hungarian Chess Federation and local sponsors put on a beautiful event. Quite impressive!
For a “friendly” match the conditions were very professional. Wood chess sets, digital clocks, board #s, and name plate. The crowd watching us play was very big. I can’t say I’ve ever played with such fine conditions before.
I had an excellent day. A draw in mt match game, and a draw with Zsofia Polgar. Not bad considering I had been awake for 24 straight hours. Jet lag is brutal!
Really nice! How did you get inside the tables?
What were the results? Did anyone score a draw or win?
Are there any videos of young bobby fisher?
Yeah, it’s amazing, fantastic, please post more photos and videos!!
