I expect Kramnik to play well today with no blunders.
Solid and reliable, as ever
I am sorry that I just posted this on the wrong place among the 57 other comments on
http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/2006/11/important-official-rules-of-kramnik.html#116477321032829406
I hope that you do not mind if I now repeat my opinion.

Thanks Susan, for publishing the
rules in a readable format. If you
anything more about the hardware
involved, please tell us.
My impression (as opposed to xmas)
of this is that Kramnik has no idea
of computer chess. He probably
thinks that he can explore some old
opening bug of Fritz’es found by his
hired seconds.
He obviosly also wants to cripple
the tiny Merom laptop computer in
the endgame.
(does anyone know if the Merom is
allowed to run in its 64-bit mode
– wich is just great for the game of chess?)
I’ll like to see a match between a real Man versus a real Machine.
After looking at his second game,
this coward could as well be playing
against an ordinary 50-watt lightbulb
instead of this powersaving Intel processor.
With the right machine operator he
would still loose!
My prediction is that he will loose
against any mobile telephone of his
own chooice in the 3 years.
I bet a millon dollars that my old
telephone will beat him right now, if he allows me to connect it to
my home computers!
Maybe stress is taking a toll on both Kramnik and Tapolov.
They both have been playing sub-par it would seem since their main event.
Just my take,
Gregory
It’s a ridicoulous match as the other of Kasparov against Deep Blue.
Of cource this match is only advertaising and promotional for “new unique product” Fritz10, so all match will be arranged. Now after this comical game 2, they want to clean image of “great new WC” and VK will achieve “brilliant” win – so match will be 3-3. But this is not real chess; this is trade show and shame…..
strike back!
KASPAROV, please come back!!!!!!!!
How can a super GM miss a mate in one that even I couldn’t miss?
PELLE,
your opinion is really unique. Obviously you understand a lot more about computerchess than any other person around. Of course you are not a coward like Kramnik and if you were the operator of the lightbulb, Kramnik would lose every time.
Your post is a real good example of an unqualified and mocking article which comes out of an aversion against Kramnik.
“will Fritz strike again?”. Clearly NO. To strike again it had to strike one time already. It did not. Noone knows how Kramnik will bounce back, or if he will. I think he will either win or lose today – no draw.
Alex
Kramnik will not win. I predict a draw or a Fritz win.
Why is it that so many people must approach this issue with deep negative or positive emotions? The chess seems to get lost in this collision of emotions. The mate in one is not because Kramnik is not a world class chess player. That would be silly to claim.
The mate in one however, well symbolizes the advantage of the computer: it could never make such mistake, because the computer has no fatigue, no slip of attention, it just plays chess the way it knows how to (the way it is programmed how to). It may not be as great from move to move as the best chess players, but the computer can present that performance level with every single move, whether it is at the beginning of the game or six hours later. That’s the big advantage of the computer.

great post, gabor.
yes sh!t happens..remember anand v zapata at biel..anand resigned after 5 moves after unintentionally sacrificing his knight!

Anyone who supported Topalov is naturally angry. Before the match he had basically an okay reptuation as a sportsman and a strong reputation as a great fighter. After the match, all was lost. He’ll forever go down as an icon of bad sportsmanship. His reputation as a fighter is gone, he refused to play without a free point. And worst of all, he didn’t even win the match in exchange for the hits he took. To add insult to injury, Anand has unofficially passsed him by as World #1. If you’re a Topalov fan, you’re pretty darn mad now, and looking for a place to shift the blame.
I don’t think you have to agree with the sentiment to be able to understand it.
Well Game 3 ended in a draw.
Kramnik gave a nice little combination at the end with the computer did not understand to secure the draw.
Kramnik continues to show he understands chess much better than the computer. He is making a farce of Topalov’s claim that Kramnik relied on fritz10 in their match. He is showing that he has the better understanding of chess over fritz.
>>Anyone who supported Topalov is naturally angry.
Why should Topalov supporters be angry. On the contrary, they are very happy after game 2. Kramnik is losing the match and there is no chance for him to make a comeback. And this against such a trash as Fritz 10.
