L to R: Harold Winston and Barbara DeMaro (US Chess Trust), Dewain Barber (USCF Scholastic Council) and Carol Jarecki (International Arbiter)
I was paying tribute to GM Arnold Denker at a National Scholastic Event after his passing. GM Denker, Mr. Dewain Barber, Mr. Jack Mallory and Mr. Ralph Bowman have all done so much for scholastic chess in America. Without their efforts and hard work, there would be no Denker Tournament of High School Champions and Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls. And without Dr. Tim Redman and UTD, countless students would not have had a chance to earn valuable chess scholarships.

RIP GM Denker! Thank you for everything!
I want to stand up and cheer for all these people. They have made the most wonderful incredible positive impact on America. We all admire their good grace and help in promoting chess. I know of no other way that so much could be done for so many people in such a wonderful way.
