Haridas seeks sponsors for final GM push

International Master Haridas Pascua is looking for sponsors to support his campaign in two consecutive international chess events in August where he hopes boost his quest for a grandmaster norm.

“We’ve run dry out of resources, financially.” Haridas’ father Gilbert told Sun.Star Baguio.

Haridas, a former University of Baguio Cardinal, graduated from an associate Information Technology course in UB.

“We are very thankful for all the opportunities and help we had from his former school, but now mas kumonti ang mga resource ng funding na pwede namin lapitan para sa GM title niya,” Gilbert said.

Haridas is preparing for the Asian Continental Chess Championships in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates August 1-13, and the 22nd Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival on August 23-31.

In his third international outing this year, the Sheik Rashid Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Cup in Dubai, Haridas finished with three wins, three losses, and three draws to finish 42nd in a field of 150..
