I recently posted a part of an incredible Memoir by Paul Truong. You can read one chapter here. The summary is here and the outline is here.
I just received this post from another Vietnamese blogger about this incredible story:
“I’ve heard of many stories like yours told by my parents and their friends. I was very young when my family made the journey in 1989 so cannot recall much of our journey.
I feel immensely lucky to have survived and without doubt will never forget or take for granted the life I have been given. Thank you for publishing your story, my generation and those in the future should be made aware of the sacrifices our parents have made to give us the life we have.
Thank you for honoring the memories of those who have perished by retelling their stories.”
A co-worker of mine also made the journey when 8 years old to escape the killing fields in Cambodia during Pol Bot regime. Sometimes we take our life for granted compared to these individuals who suffered so much just to be given a chance at life in USA.
Fantastic story and it shows his strong character. We need someone like Mr. Truong on the EB.
Incredible story! Wow!
