The Yankees have played their final home game at Yankees Stadium tonight. They will be moving to a brand new stadium next year. The game ended at 11:41 pm (September 21, 2008) and they defeated the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 7-3.

The goodbye completed an 85-year-old run for the home of baseball’s most famous team. What began with a Babe Ruth home run on an April afternoon in 1923 ended with Mariano Rivera closing out the 9th to protect a win for Andy Pettitte.
