What a lame tournament…. all draws
Kramnik style games….. booring
Nice win by Radjabov…..good fight. Love the final position….he’s got poor Van Wely screwed down tight. Hope the others are “inspired” by this nice win.
They all showed how borring their play could be. All players wants to draw too often. This should be forbidden.
It should NOT be up to players to agree on draws. That is NOT sport.
If they had Sofia rules I doubt they would have 6 draws. More than that, some of them play poor endings. What we see in this tournament so far is just a facade. Sad.
Why isn’t Moro or Ivanchuk here… and I really wish Kamsky were invited to more international tournaments… half the guys in the A section shouldn’t be there…
Can’t stand these short draws… Congrats to Radjabov, I really like his fighting spirit…all he needs to do is beat the weaker players, and draw the few that are stronger and he will win…
and what happened to topa, i thought he doesn’t take short draws.
Difficult game, could be fun, if Susan wants to analyse this game for us, all moves seems to be computer-moves.
:-/
Topalov agreed to the (short) draw because he was clearly worse in the final position. The opening just did not accomplish anything for him….the way he usually starts tournaments..its probably ok if he warms up in the first few games..you guys know how he comes on in tourneys…..I’m not worried.
Bravo Radjabov ! I wish he could be the champion, but the thing is he has the fighting spirit !
Montrealer
The only solution to the draw problem is the pointcount! It’s way too easy to gain half the point of a win! (for a GM it’s easy!!)
Do something like :
Lose: 0 points
Draw: 1 point
Win: 3 points
or something similar…
