Presented by Buffalo State College, Buffalo, New York, inconjunction with The Archangel 8 Chess Academy.
This is a 3 day weekend FIDE and USCF rated Championship held on Friday June 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2011 at Campbell Student Union, 1300 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, NY. This is the start of our annual Summer Chess Festival in Buffalo – Niagara Falls, NY area.
The FIDE Open section is a 7 Rounds, Swiss, FIDE & USCF rated, Game 120. Advance Entry fee is $120 by May 31, 2011 or $150 USD Cash only at the door. Projected Cash Prizes are $1000, $500 & $350; U2200 – $300 & $150, U1800 – $300 & $150.
Games Schedule: Fri. June 3rd at 1pm and 6pm, Sat June 4th at 9am, 1:30pm and 6pm, Sun June 5th at 9:30am and 2:30pm.
The Mayor’s Cup U1500 Jeff White Memorial Section is a two day event, starts on Sat June 4th and 5th, 2011. This is a 5 Rounds, Swiss, Game 90, USCF rated. Advanced entry $45 USD before May 31, 2011 or $60 USD Cash only at the door.
Game Schedule: Sat June 4th at 10am, Rd 2 at 2:30pm and Rd 3 at 6pm, Sun. June 5th at 9:30am and 2:30pm.
U1500 Cash Prizes are $200 – $100 & $80.
The 5th Annual Mayor’s Cup Scholastic Team Championships will only be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011. The advance entry fee is $25 or $40 USD by May 31, 2011. This will be a 5 Rounds, Swiss, Game 30. Three players from the same school consist of a team. Registration closes at 11am. Games start at Noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Trophy and awards to follow.

well i was playin in the marchand in the early 90s vs this “gm” Pavel Blatny and he came late for the game on purpose, so the td turned his clock back after announcing the start of the round, so thats why i stopped coming to your tournaments but i punished him on icc after they went a got him! lol, similiar chacanery happened last year at this event with IM Regan, so i may avoid this tourny in protest of this unfair behavior. Um watching tv right now just relaxin while the gms practicin their knight moves. Oh one more thing, Where u livin anon, UM just curious? hehehe.
I didn’t notice this, Lionel, until Googling around today. What are you referring to?
For the record, he didn’t play; IM Mladen Vucic and I tied at 6-1, and I won on tiebreaks partly by virtue of winning our individual game.
