With this result, I think Judit has passed the 2700 mark once again! She is also the first woman to tie for 1st at the European Individual Chess Championship!

Wow! What a terrific result. Judit Polgar has proved herself to be still one of the world’s greatest chess players, and is (as always) the most exciting one to follow. And she made the most endearing comment about her win over Viorel Iordachescu in the 10th round:
(It was a draw, but “just to torture him….”. As always, she played to win, not merely to qualify, as she bemusedly and smilingly acknowledged to Robert Fontaine when questioned about that in an earlier round.
Results like these can only do good to the game of chess.
Judit again congratulations.
Stef
congrats judit

Congratulations to the new European Champion Vladimir Potkin to this great success and his well deserved first place !
Bravo to everyone!!!!!!!!
Finally….a tournament…without the top ten…that was well covered and exciting. I’m sort of Partial to liking Judit but Potkin …and the others did very well. See what decent coverage can do? Thanks Susan. I enjoyed this tournament very much.
