Gm wesley so is a serious contender in this tournament…so sad he’s nt playng.
It is a star studded cast alright but what baffled me is why Wesley So did not even bother to join. He should have tried his luck against the best of chess rapid and blitz. It is still puzzling and/or mysterious as to why Wesley So is missing in such big event. But he did opted to play on a weak tournament as Las Vegas Chess Festival and Edmonton International. Look at Giri, he play only on strong tournaments like Norway Chess and Biel 2014 with strong and world class opposition but Wesley So opposition in Las Vegas Chess and Edmonton ate weak. After winning Capablanca Memorial, it is sure not a good followup. Grow some balls Wesley and pick strong tournaments. At least if you lose, it would be against strong players not weak and low rated players. Grow up Wesley and Level up. Your tournament choice is BAD
He wants to play but he cannot play. There is a specific reason for this.
Why is gm gelfand’s country listed as fide?
